Nickel alloys possess exceptional properties in comparison to stainless steels or other metals.
Deutsche Nickel’s range of alloys excel above all in demanding environmental conditions, such as with their high corrosion resistance and/or high temperature resistance.
For example, corrosion properties are necessary in maritime environments, where components are exposed to sea water. The high temperature properties of Nickel can be exploited in the construction of power stations, for example. The combination of both attributes, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance, is required for spark plugs and oil exploration.
Deutsche Nickel also has alloys in our portfolio, which possess defined and controlled thermal expansion properties. An example of the application of these alloy properties would be in glass-to-metal or ceramic-to-metal sealing.
We also produce alloys with specific soft-magnetic properties, as used in applications such as gas safety valves.
Electrical resistance alloys are used in the manufacture of furnaces and in the automotive industry.
